James began his career articling with a Big 4 firm in Vancouver where he worked for over 3 years servicing a variety of private and publicly traded clients in the mining, manufacturing, forestry and insurance industries. He subsequently worked for a local firm in Saskatoon for 9 months, where he focused on the needs of owner-managed businesses. Most recently prior to joining the team, James worked for a publicly traded power generation and marketing company in Calgary in their Energy Trading and Marketing business unit for 4.5 years where he built on his technical accounting knowledge and worked in a management capacity overseeing a team of 6 people. James is a Chartered Professional Accountant and CFA charterholder.
